Melva Ruth Solseth, age 89, of St. Peter, died on Thursday, January 24, 2019 at Mayo Clinic Hospital, St Marys Campus in Rochester.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 30, 2019 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter with the Reverend Joy Ekstedt officiating. Interment will be at Oakland Cemetery in Hutchinson. Visitation will be held at the church for one hour prior to the service on Wednesday.

St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Melva Ruth, the daughter of Melvin and Nannie (Christensen) Petersen, was born on December 20, 1929 in Springfield. In February of 1950, she married Aaron Carl Solseth in Sleepy Eye. Melva was previously employed as a secretary for the Faith Lutheran Church in Hutchinson and the St. Peter Regional Treatment Center.

She is survived by her sons, Ron (Dorisann) Solseth, David (Julie) Solseth, Allan (Ann) Solseth, and Greg (Jan) Solseth; 15 grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; and sister, Shirley (James) Hrbek.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and husband, Aaron.
