Douglas Witte

Douglas “Doug” Witte, 58, of Le Sueur, died November 24, 2018 at Benedictine Health System in St. Peter after living with early onset Alzheimer’s for seven years.

A memorial service will be held at 11am, Saturday, December 1, 2018 at First Lutheran Church in St. Peter with a visitation beginning at 9:30am. Memorials are preferred to the family. Please share a memory of Doug with his family at www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com.

Doug was born on September 18, 1960 in St. Peter, MN to Alden and Dallas (White) Witte. He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1979 and then continued his education at South Central Technical College in auto body repair. On October 28, 1995 he married Lisa Renee Westphal. He and his wife settled in rural Le Sueur. He was employed at Pearson Auto Body in Shakopee for the majority of his career.

His greatest pride and enjoyment came from being a loving husband and devoted father. Family activities included trips to Duluth as well as snowmobiling, jet skiing, and attending Indy and NASCAR races as well as local events at Arlington Raceway. He shared his painting and design talent with area racecar drivers. He was his daughter’s #1 fan at her hockey games throughout her grade school and high school years.

Doug is survived by his wife, Lisa and daughter, Taylor of Le Sueur; brother, David (Linda); brother, Dan (Stacy) and his sons, Levi (Tina) and Nick (Lisa) all of St. Peter; uncle, Mern “Lee” Witte of Kearns, Utah. Also left to cherish his memory are his father-in-law and mother in-law, Dwain and Janet Wilmes; brothers-in-law and and sisters-in-law, Kimberly Green, Keith Westphal, Jodi (Carter) Lehrke, Missy (Andy) Daschner, Todd (Shane) Wilmes, Laurie Sickler; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Alden and Dallas.

Doug chose to donate his body to Mayo Clinic for medical education purposes.
