James Douglas Jacobson

James Douglas Jacobson of St. Peter passed away on October 2, 2018, following a 21-month fight with cancer.

Memorial Service will be at 6 p.m. Tuesday, October 9 at St. Peter Funeral Home in St. Peter. Visitation will be from 4-6 p.m. at the funeral home.

James, who also went by “Jim” or “Jake,” was born to June (Peterson) and Donald Jacobson on August 1, 1956 in Virginia, MN. Jake was a graduate of Minnesota State University with degrees in Political Science and English. Jake was married to Nancy Boswell from 1981 to 1995.  He worked in sales for Phillips & Sons, later Johnson Brothers, for over 30 years. Jake was a league bowler, a shuffleboard player, and a member at the Le Sueur Country Club, where he played golf every Thursday for many years. He will be remembered for his sharp wit and entertaining stories by his many friends and loved ones.

James is preceded in death by his father. He is survived by his mother June, his children Peter (Allison) and Elizabeth (Morgan), his grandchildren Max, Norah and Marion, his siblings Mike, Dawn and Dan, and his niece and nephews and several cousins.
