Darron Becker

Darron Lee Becker, age 62, of Albert Lea, MN died Wednesday, September 5, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Albert Lea.

Funeral Service will be at the St. Peter Funeral Home in St. Peter, MN (906 N. Washington Ave) at 11 a.m. on Monday, September 10. Visitation will be Sunday, September 9 from 3-6 p.m. at the funeral home and will resume at 10 a.m. on Monday. Burial will take place at New Woodlawn Cemetery in Pipestone, MN at a later date.

Darron was born on August 15, 1956 in Pipestone to Henry Becker and Joyce (Beatty) Sommers. He graduated from Pipestone High School in 1974. Darron married Diane Schneider in 1981 and together they raised three children in St. Peter; they divorced in 1991. Darron relocated to Albert Lea in 2006. He was an Eagles Club member and he volunteered his time selling meat packages for Toys for Tots. Darron enjoyed hunting, fishing, bowling, and playing softball.

Darron is survived by his mother, Joyce Sommers; sons, Jon (Laura) of St. Peter, Tom (Jasmine) of North Mankato, MN and Mike of St. Peter; grandsons, Matthew and James; sister, Gwen of St. Paul; brother, Rick (Korine) Sommers of Raymond, MN; sister-in-law, Denise Fitch; and nieces and nephews, Steven and Matthew Becker and Jennifer and Derick Sommers. He was preceded in death by his step-father, Eldon Sommers and his brother, Steven “Butch.”
