Edward J. Karl, age 79 of St. Peter, died on Monday, July 16, 2018 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
Memorial service is 11:00 am on Saturday, August 4, 2018 at St. Peter Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior. Burial will be at Fort Snelling National with honors.
Edward James was born July 3, 1939 in Chicago, IL to Edward L. and Genevieve (Walen) Karl. He served in the US Army, being honorably discharged in 1962. Ed was united in marriage to Carol Ann Cline on May 13, 1967 in Chicago. They moved to St. Peter in 1971 and he was employed at MICO Inc. In retirement, he worked for St. Peter Funeral Service (later St. Peter Funeral Home) for many years. Ed was a member of the Church of St. Peter, Knights of Columbus, and enjoyed woodworking, gardening, biking and fishing.
Left to remember Ed are: his wife, Carol; children: Ed, Jr. (Katie), Tom (Becky) and Carrie (Joel) Krestik; grandchildren: Ruth and Caleb; brother Leonard (Mickey) and many other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Gloria.
