Clyde L. Birr

Clyde L. Birr, age 86, of St. Peter and formerly of Lake Washington, passed away on Saturday, February 17, 2018, in St. Peter.

Clyde was born December 27, 1931, in St. Peter to Hermann and Eldora (Basye) Birr. He was united in marriage to Betty Bender on July 3, 1957. Clyde worked as a drywall contractor and in 1966, he and his wife built their house on Lake Washington. He loved life at the lake, was an avid fisherman and an outdoorsman. Clyde was also a lifelong member of the First Presbyterian Church in Kasota.

He loved his family and life, and lived with almost a perpetual smile on his face. Left to remember Clyde are his wife of 62 years, Betty; children Barbara (John Brever), Ryan (Michelle Regnier-Birr), and Elizabeth; and extended family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister, Dorothy Brockmeyer.

The Funeral Service will be held at 11 am Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at the First Presbyterian Church in Kasota. Visitation will be 4-7 pm Tuesday at St. Peter Funeral Home and continue one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America.
