Curtis Leonard

November 16, 1933 — January 4, 2018

Curtis Alden Leonard, age 84 of St. Peter - formerly of Kasota, MN, passed away on January 4, 2018 in Mankato.

Memorial service will be 11:00 am Monday, January 8, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church in Kasota with visitation at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Kasota Hill Cemetery. Memorials can be shared at www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com.

Curt was born to Almond (Cub) and Margaret (Lee) Leonard in St. Peter. He attended school in Kasota and at St. Peter High. He joined the Navy in 1951 and served on board the U.S.S. Macon C.A. 132. In 1956 he was united in marriage to Wendelyn ‘Jean’ Morrison until her death in 1986. After honorable discharge, Curt attended Mankato Vo Tech and worked in auto body. Curt was employed at Clements Auto, Brakke-Benzie Shop, Co-owned L & H Repair in Kasota, Lagers, and Mike’s Countryside Body Shop in St. Peter until his retirement. Curt was a member of the Kasota Fire Department for 20 years, Kasota Presbyterian Church, Kasota Legion, St. Peter V.F.W., Kasota City Council and the St. Peter Redmen’s Club. On April 23rd 2014, Curt married Melva Hoffman and they enjoyed traveling and sightseeing together. Curt enjoyed fishing, hunting, playing cards, and spending time with family.

He is survived by his loving and caring Wife Melva; Children: Jeff, Scott (Michelle), David, Valerie Elwood (Jason), Matt (Kari), and Laurel Strand; Son-in-Law Gary Jewison; 7 Step Children; Grandchildren Jason, Dillon, Samantha, Brice, Ryan, Tyler, Kyle, Britney, Aaron, Eli, Noah, Connor, Nathan, and Ty; 8 Great Grandchildren; and Sisters, Alberta Lanars and Lois Lundberg.

He is preceded in death by his Parents, Wife Jean, Daughter Kelly Jewison, and infant Son Patrick.
