Merle Schroeder

Merle William Schroeder, age 85, of St. Peter died Tuesday, December 26, 2017 at Pheasant’s Ridge Assisted Living in St. Peter.

Funeral service will be held on Friday, December 29 at 11 a.m. at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church (427 W Mulberry St) in St. Peter. Merle was born November 10, 1932 to Herbert and Irene (Minks) Schroeder in Bird Island, Minnesota. After serving in the Army, Merle married Rosalyn Johnson on March 28, 1956. He worked at Seitzer Ford as a mechanic for 35 years. Merle enjoyed working on cars, grilling, spending time with family, games and cards, and Daily Devotions.

Merle is survived by his children, Sheree (Dan) Gilbertson, Ricky (Deb), and Lisa (Dennis) McGee; grandchildren, Caleb, Luke, and Micah Gilbertson, Sam (Maggie) and Andy (Kim), Sarah (Oscar) Juarez, and Paul (Missy); great-grandchildren, Chloe, Josiah, Benjamin, Jacob, Maya, Ruby, and Archer; five sisters; one brother; and other relatives and friends. Merle was preceded in death by his wife Rosalyn in 2010 and two brothers.
