Iris Hill

Iris Clara Viola Rucks Hill, age 84, passed over to her spiritual home on November 2, 2017.

Father Todd Petersen will preside over the Funeral Mass at 11:00 am, on Tuesday, November 21, 2017  at Church of St. Peter Catholic Church,1801 West Broadway, St. Peter, MN.  Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Private family interment. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.

Iris was the daughter of Arnold Rucks and Viola Ristau. She was born in Green Isle Township, Sibley County on April 20, 1933. She graduated from St. Peter High School, class of 1951 and married her high school sweetheart, Robert Alden Hill on February.7, 1953. 

Iris was a devout member of the Catholic Daughters and very proud of having worked 30 years at the Nicollet County Treasurer’s office. After her retirement she found enjoyment in her many volunteer activities. She donated her time to Meals on Wheels, Curves, The Church Thrift Store, and visits at the nursing homes. Living life at the lake and time spent fishing was a true joy for her, their second home at Cape Horn, Lake Jefferson was a favorite place for all the family.  Iris loved traveling not only throughout the states including Hawaii but also Ireland, and a safari to Africa with her brother was her biggest adventure. Her fondest time was that shared with her family, especially grandchildren and great grandchildren and participating in all the social events held at the Benedictine Senior Living Community, her residence for the last 5 years.

Iris is preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Delphine and her husband Bob. She leaves a family who will miss her dearly, one brother; three children; 10 grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren; her brother, Chuck Rucks and his wife Barb.

Daughter, VonMarie Hill Goddard (husband, Paul) and family Adam Pehrson (wife, Carrie, daughters, Isabella and Addison); Amy Pehrson Powers (husband, Rj, children, Cole, Lexi and Charlie); and Lauren Goddard Schwartz (husband, Dan and daughter, Naomi).

Daughter, Wanda Ann Hill Ryan, (husband, Steve) and family, Jeff (wife, Eve, children, Sean and Ella), Kim Horning (husband, Reid, sons, Ethan, Collin and Nolan) and Dan and his wife Emily.

Son, Ronald Robert Hill (wife, Stephanie Mueller Hill) and family, Danielle Johnson Gansen (husband, Karl and son, Cash), Brianna Johnson Sinclair, (husband, Tim and children, Harlan and Evelyn), Raunatta Hill Wenner (husband, Jeff and daughter, Finnigan), Samarra Hill Gomez (husband, Aldo and sons, Xavier and Roman). Iris has many loving nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, and acquaintances who will miss her.
