Stephen “Steve” Arthur Myhra, 69, of St. Peter, Minnesota passed away at home on Wednesday, September 13, 2017 after a long battle with cancer.
Memorial service is 11:00 am Monday, September 18. 2017 at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Peter, with visitation on hour prior. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Steve was born on January 4, 1948 in St. Peter to Robert and Mary (Stradtman) Myhra. He grew up on a farm near Norseland. Steve graduated from St. Peter High School in 1966 and from Austin Vocational School for carpentry in 1968. Steve married Susan Boucher on June 17, 1972 at Union Presbyterian Church in St. Peter. In his 45 years of carpentry work, Steve had the opportunity to help build a church, assisted living facilities, apartment buildings, motels, and many residential homes. He even had the opportunity to build the guest house at Glen Taylor’s home in Mankato. He enjoyed bowling, woodworking, taking care of his iris garden, attending garage sales and flea markets, reading, puzzles, and spending time with his family.
Steve is survived by his wife of 45 years, Susan; three sons, Neal, Nathan (Amy), and Matthew; two grandchildren, Andrew and Megan; mother, Mary; brother, Merlin (Janet); an aunt; and many cousins. Steve was preceded in death by his father, Robert; brother, Kevin; and his grandparents.
