Nancy Miller

Nancy Jane Miller, 69, passed away during the early morning hours of August 16, 2017 at her home in rural Saint Peter. 

Memorial service will be held 3:30p.m., Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Saint Peter Funeral Home, 906 North Washington Avenue, in Saint Peter. Visitation will take place from 1-3p.m. at the funeral home. The family prefers memorials be given to PAWS or the Saint Peter Food Shelf.

Nancy was born August 27, 1947 to Glenn and Joyce Rippel in Fairmont, Minnesota. She graduated from Minnesota Lake High School in 1965 and from Gustavus Adolphus College in 1970 with a degree in English. She continued her education at Mankato State University receiving a Master’s Degree in English.  Her teaching career spanned 34 years at Henderson High School, Minnesota New Country School, and LeSueur-Henderson High School.

Nancy is survived by her husband of 50 years, Jeff Miller; daughter, Anne (Tim Aune) Miller; mother, Joyce Rippel; siblings, Judy (Steve) Waldhauser and Robert (Linda) Rippel; and two beloved grandsons, Luke and Bjorn Aune. She is preceded in death by her father, Glenn Rippel.

Nancy had a sincere love of the BBC’s Masterpiece Mystery series and a gift for gardening, cooking, and baking.  Luke and Bjorn loved all of grandma’s wonderful sweet treats.  She had a deep love and compassion for dogs, especially, her beloved friends, Boots, Tanya, Katie, Sandy, Molly, Maggie, Josie, Sophie, Ruby, and Chloe.
