Brenda Jo Johnson, age 58, died Saturday, July 29, 2017, in her home after a battle with cancer.
A memorial service will be held at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter on Wednesday, August 2, at 2 p.m. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 1, at St. Peter Funeral Home and one hour prior to the service at the church.
Brenda was born June 28, 1959, to David and Barbara (Roemhildt) Melby in St. Peter at the St. Peter Community Hospital. She graduated from St. Peter High School in 1977. Brenda and Randahl were married July 18, 1981. She enjoyed cross word puzzles, being at the lake, and gardening. Brenda cherished her grandchildren and her beloved Pomeranian, Barney. Brenda treated everyone she met like family. Her family will forever remember her as patient, kind, feisty, funny, strong, and loving. ?
Brenda is survived by her husband of 36 years, Randahl; son, Jamison Johnson of St. Peter; daughters, Jessica (Ryan) Gunderson of Kasota and Jennifer (Nick) Weber of Traverse; mother, Barb Melby of St. Peter; brother, Todd Melby of St. Peter; sisters, Beth (Paul) Fenske of Waconia; Kris (Mike) Hobday of St. Peter, Karna (Bret) Eggersderfer of North Mankato, and Tracy (Steve) Ward of St. Peter; grandchildren, Reagan, Olivia, Rhine, Mason, Weston, River Johnson, Wyatt McCabe, Keera, Kyla Gunderson, Claire, and Samual Weber; brother-in-laws, Eugene (Gayle) Johnson and Daniel (Cheryl) Johnson; sister-in-law, Camie (Rick) Sack; and her dog, Barney. Brenda was preceded in death by her father, David; grandson, Kale Gunderson; nephew, Bruce Lee; and father and mother in-laws, Eugene and Irene Johnson.
