Verna Gordonna Kaduce, age 95, passed away Wednesday July 26, 2017, at the Benedictine Living Community of St. Peter.
Funeral Service will be held 4:00 p.m., Sunday, July 30, 2017, at River of Life Lutheran Church, 830 Sunrise Drive (corner of Traverse/Sunrise), St. Peter, with Pastor Tom Braun officiating. Burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Beauford. Visitation will be 2 to 4 p.m. at the church on Sunday. St. Peter Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Memorials may be given to River of Life Lutheran Church.
Verna was born September 13, 1921, to Walter and Hattie (Nerge) Grupe at her family’s farm in Amboy. She married Ervin Kaduce on November 17, 1938. Verna raised 6 children and helped on the farm gardening and canning, and always wanting to feed everyone that came to visit.
Verna and Ervin enjoyed traveling, fishing, and their cabin. Verna and Ervin attended many birthday parties, sporting and music events for their grandchildren. They enjoyed playing cards, and Verna was on a bowling league for many years.
Verna is survived by her husband of 78 years, Ervin Kaduce of St. Peter; children, Myron (Doris) Kaduce of St. Peter, Betty (Fred) Porter of New Ulm, Richard (Kay) Kaduce of Eau Claire, Phyllis (Jody) McCoy of Colorado Springs, CO, and Karen (Larold) Peterson of Bethel; 24 grandchildren; 47 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-Grandchildren; and one great-great-great-grandchild.
Verna was preceded in death by her son, Larry; her parents, Walter and Hattie Grupe; sisters, Jeanette Stauffer and Ruth Trouth; brother, Gordon Grupe; daughter-in-law, Ladonna Kaduce; son-in-law, Wally Drill; and granddaughter, Donna Raimann.
