Steven L. Jonason Sr., age 61 of St. Peter, died Friday, July 21, 2017 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Mankato.

Funeral Service will be 11:30 am Thursday, July 27th at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church in Norseland with visitation at 9:30. Burial will be at the church cemetery. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family.

Steven Loren was born on May 9, 1956 in St. Peter to Erwood and Jeri (Arthur) Jonason and was baptized and confirmed at Scandian Grove Lutheran. He attended Nicollet School through the 8th grade and is a 1974 graduate of St. Peter High School. He then received his associate’s degree from Mankato Vocational. Steve married Patricia Foss and they later divorced. He farmed and also drove milk truck for Lindemeiers and later Rodnings before doing over the road trucking for various employers. He was a member of the Red Men Club in St. Peter and enjoyed collecting tractors, going to auctions and Pioneer Power, and looking at crops.

Steve is survived by three children: Steven Jr., Jeremy, and Heather; two granddaughters: Sydney Joann Turner and Lillian Taylor Jonason; siblings: Pam (George) Rogich, Diana (Ric) Reichel, Dale (Terri), Cheryl Hutchens, and Melanie (Manuel) Martinez; aunt: Elizabeth Arthur Knutson; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Gracie Ann Jonason; his parents; and a niece, Vicky Lea Jonason.
