Daniel H. Starrett

Daniel Herbert Starrett passed away June 8, 2017 at his home in St. Peter, MN after a long battle with many health conditions. A gathering of friends and family will take place at St. Peter Funeral Home from 10:00-11:00 am on Friday, June 16th.

Dan was born on July 17, 1959 in New Ulm to James and Jean (Wandersee) Starrett. He received his education attending schools in Mankato and Sleepy Eye. He had various jobs, most being in construction or driving semi coast to coast. He was married twice; both of which ended in divorce. Dan enjoyed racing, fishing of all types, spending time with friends and family and his beloved dog, Lady.

Dan is survived by his son, James (Linda) Hiedeman of Fairmont and stepson Brian Schimmelpfennig of St. Paul; grandchildren: Tyler, Ryan, Blake, Hanna, Kara and Kayla; sisters: Melissa Wellnitz of Mankato and Sheila (Greg) Nessett of Sleepy Eye; brother Steve (Ann) Starrett of Mankato; many step brothers and a step sister, nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, step dad Robert Pipes, step daughter DeeAnn, sister Michelle Krueger, brother Carey Starrett, great nephew Carter Starrett, step sister Gail (Pipes) Schroedl, brother-in-law Dan Wellnitz and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Blessed be his memory.
