Ryan T. Wendelschafer, age 26 of St. Peter, died at his home on May 13, 2017.
Visitation will be at 9:30 a.m. on Friday, May 19, 2017 at Scandian Grove Lutheran Church (42869 Co. Rd. 52, St. Peter) in Norseland with a service following at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be at the church cemetery. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Ryan was born on June 16, 1990 to Thomas L. and Mary Jane Wendelschafer. He was raised in St. Peter and is a 2009 graduate of St. Peter High School. He attended Minnesota State University, Mankato. He helped his father and uncle farm, worked at Gustavus Adolphus College and also had various jobs in the St. Peter Community. He was a member of Scandian Grove Lutheran Church and on a bowling league in St. Peter. He had an unending love for life, family, and friends; he was supportive and helpful to others and was active at his church. He loved his dog Rusty and enjoyed long walks with him. Ryan had a special touch with animals. From a very young age Ryan was a magnet to dogs and the Holstein cattle at his uncle’s. Ryan enjoyed bowling, walking and exercising, watching the Vikings, the Twins, the Timberwolves, wrestling, and college basketball.
Left to remember Ryan are his aunt Hermine Berreau; cousins: Hannah (Curt) Berreau and Hans (Lizzie Anderson) Berreau; aunts: Rhonda (Daniel) Gapinski and Joyce Morrissette; and other cousins and especially his rescue dog Rusty. He was preceded in death by his parents, Tom and Mary; uncle, Oliver Pehrson Jr.; and his paternal and maternal grandparents.
