Harvey Fairfield Bolton, 79 of St. Peter, died peacefully Saturday, February 18, 2017 at Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
Funeral Service will be 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 25, 2017 at St. Peter Funeral Home with visitation one hour prior to the service. The family prefers memorials be given to Ecumen Prairie Hill in St. Peter.
Harvey was born April 20, 1937 to Arthur and Cleone (Greeley) Bolton in Truman, MN. He Graduated from Fairmont High School in 1956. In 1957 he married Trulie Olson. Together they raised three children, Tamara, Timothy, and Sandy. Harvey started his career at a young age as a delivery boy for the Fairmont Sentinel. He worked his way up into the mailroom and eventually to be a composer in the ad department. He also worked for a short time at the Star Tribune. He moved to Mankato in 1963 and worked as a composer in the ad department at the Mankato Free Press. In the 1976, he owned and operated Bolton Delivery Service delivering freight around southern Minnesota. He also was a part-time flight instructor for Mankato State College. In his free time, Harvey enjoyed flying, riding his motorcycle, family trips, and caring for his many dogs over the years.
Harvey is survived by his children, Timothy (Katie) Bolton and Sandy (Mike) Austin; son-in-law, Nathan (Mary) Ebert; 8 grandchildren; 8 great-grandchildren; brother, Calvin (Elizabeth) Bolton; 4 nephews; and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents and daughter, Tamara.
