Carla Mador, age 66 of St. Peter, died on January 1, 2017 in Tucson AZ.

Memorial service will be 11:00 am on Saturday, January 21, 2017 at St. Peter Funeral Home. Visitation will be 4:00 – 7:00 Friday and one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
Carla was born on April 18, 1950 in Foston, MN to Carl Edward and Clara (Ellestad) Nelson. She was raised in Madelia, and graduated from Madelia High School in 1968. She married David Mador on November 13, 1985 in Sioux Falls, SD. They resided in St. Peter and Carla worked for over 30 years with the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Department and the Le Sueur County Sheriff’s Posse. She enjoyed flower gardening, cooking and most of all, being around family, friends and her cats Sam and Abby.

Left to remember Carla are her husband, David; children: Kara (Bruce) Christenson of Rochester, Cory Lewis of St. James and Todd Mador of Owatonna;  11 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; siblings Elaine (Alden) Hageman of Elk River; Margie (Roger) Bluhm of Hutchinson; Ronald "Buddy" Nelson of St. Peter; Judy Nelson of St. James; Susan Klatt of Madelia; Bernie (Julie) Nelson of St. James; Bruce (Barb) Nelson of Madelia; and Rick (Peg) Nelson of Madelia and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, brother Darrell "Sonny" Nelson, Sister-in-law Nancy Nelson; brothers-in-law Russell Nelson and Maynard "Butch" Nelson and step daughter, Teresa Mador Bass.

For those interested, in lieu of flowers, donations to the LeSueur County Sheriff's Posse in Carla's honor would be appreciated.
