Gladys Teresa Glass

Gladys T. Glass, age 94, of New Ulm, died Tuesday, October 25th, 2016 at Ridgeway on German in New Ulm, Minnesota.

A memorial service will be held at 12 p.m. on Saturday, October 29th, 2016 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter with Pastor Nathan Nass officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. A private family burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery in St. Peter. St. Peter Funeral Home Klein Chapel is assisting with arrangements.

Gladys was born Gladys T. Gulden on January 13, 1922 in New Ulm. She graduated from new Ulm High school in 1940. She worked with the Federal Works Agency in the Personnel Department in Washington D.C. during WWII. On May 19, 1946, she was united in marriage to Arthur Glass. She worked at Gustavus in the Library and Audio Visual Departments.

Gladys was a member of Ladies Aid at St. Peter’s Evangelical Lutheran Church and loved to arrange flowers on the altar of the church. She delivered Meals on Wheels. Her many interests included: tending to her flower garden, sewing, reading, camping, fishing, traveling, bicycling and cross country skiing.

She was a devoted wife and mother. She marveled at the beauty of every flower and said you know there is a God when you look at a flower.

Left to remember her are children Sherry Glass (Bernie), Jeffrey Glass (Janet), Cindy Hovgaard (the late Michael), Tracy Glass (Carol), 7 grandchildren: Melissa, Abra, Jason, Jessica, Katie, Jaime and Ellie; 4 great grandchildren: Mark, Karle, Felicity and Vaughn and her sister Margaret. She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 brother, husband Arthur and a son-in-law, Michael Hovgaard.

Memorials are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
