Dawn Florence Thieman

Dawn Florence (McDonough) Thieman, 79, of St. Peter died peacefully at Benedictine Care Center on October 17, 2016 with her husband at her side.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 21, 2016 at the Catholic Church of St. Peter in St. Peter, Minnesota. Visitation will be held at 9:30 a.m. at the church, with interment to follow the service at Calvary Cemetery in St. Peter.

Survived by adoring husband of 57 years Bernard Thieman; sister Sharon (Douglas) Mangine; brother-in-law Raymond (Carol) Thieman; sister-in-law Mary Lou Thieman; many nieces and nephews; and special lifelong friends Tom and Patty Roessler. Preceded in death by parents Lloyd and Violet McDonough; brother and sister-in-law Jay and Donna McDonough; parents-in-law Ben and Rose Thieman; brothers-in-law Francis and Robert Thieman; and special four legged companion Muffy.

Dawn was born June 20, 1937 in St. Paul, Minnesota. She was a dedicated nurse at St. Peter Community Hospital for 43 years, loved by the people she cared for and respected by her peers. Dawn enjoyed baking, gardening, reading, bowling, antiquing with friends, and especially time at the lake surrounded by nature. Special thanks to her niece Jodi Thieman-Derrick for her ongoing support, and to her caregivers at the Benedictine Center for their love and respectful care the past four and a half years.

In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred, as family will designate them to the charities of their choice.
