Grace Engesser Paquette

Grace Engesser Paquette, 106 of St. Peter, died Thursday, June 30, 2016 at the Benedictine Living Community. Funeral service 2:00 pm Wednesday, July 6, 2016 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Peter with visitation from 12:00 to 2:00. Burial will be at Greenhill Cemetery, St. Peter. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred. www.saintpeterfuneralhome.com Grace was born on April 30, 1910 in New Sweden, Nicollet County to Gerhard and Inga Marie (Berg) Swenson. She worked for her room and board so that she could finish school, graduating from St. Peter High in 1928. That same year, she married Harold Engesser. They were married for 39 years before his passing in 1967. Grace worked at the State Hospital as a switchboard operator for 34 years and was active in the St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Ladies Aide. She enjoyed traveling, cooking, playing cards, reading and especially spending time with family. Left to remember Grace are her children: Harold Engesser Jr., Vonnie Olsen, and Diane Braun; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 17 great-great grandchildren; and a sister, June Ball. She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, sons-in-law: Robert Olsen and Rich Braun; and daughter-in-law Beverly Engesser.
