Linda Gail Kuster, age 70, of St. Peter, Minnesota, passed away on Saturday, May 28th, at her home in St. Peter. A visitation and celebration of life will take place Friday, June 3rd from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the St. Peter Funeral Home, St. Peter, Minnesota.
Linda was born in Chatfield to Deina and Everett Arnold on December 31, 1945, and graduated from Chosen Valley High in Chatfield in 1963. Linda married LaVern Kuster and eventually settled in St. Peter, Minnesota, to raise their family. They were together until his death in 2012.
Linda worked for Onan Power Company as an administrative assistant until its closing in 2001. Linda then worked as a caregiver and aide in assisted living facilities in St. Peter. Linda enjoyed the company of the many residents, often taking time to have coffee and conversation with them, and passing out individualized valentines to each of them until her retirement. Linda truly loved to make others happy.
Linda enjoyed reading, coffee with her friends, socializing with people where she lived, connecting on Facebook, and bingo. Most of all, Linda enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren by whom she was affectionately referred to as “Mema.” Linda was always on the go with one or more of them. She loved traveling with them, weekends and holidays at the cabin, attending their sporting events and concerts, or just hanging out with them playing yard games or cards. Linda’s smiles, giggles, quirky sense of humor and “grandma hugs and kisses” are irreplaceable treasures. Linda was a special mother and grandmother who forged strong individual relationships with each of her children and grandchildren.
Linda is preceded in death by her husband LaVern, granddaughter Ashley, her parents Deina and Everett, brothers Jack and Dean, sister Carolyn, and three infant siblings.
Left to cherish her memory are her three children and their spouses, Jill (Bradley) Rezac of Hutchinson, Jeff (Valerie) Arnold of Minneapolis, Jena (Eric) Kauffmann of Murdock; her six beloved grandchildren, Brandon and Nicole Rezac, Andrew and Aaron Arnold, and Brianna and AJ (Aaron) Kauffmann; four step-children who gave her eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; six brothers and sisters, Rita (Larry) Newman of Rochester, Dave (Gail) Arnold of Stewartville, Gerry (Cathy) Arnold of Rochester, Rick (Nancy) Arnold of Chatfield, Mark (Pam) Arnold of Acworth, Ga., and Cindy (Ken) Moe of Rochester.
