Donald Stark

Donald Charles Stark, 88, was surrounded by family when he entered into Heaven on Easter Sunday, March 27, 2016.  He was born on May 6, 1927 in Lake Prairie Township of rural St. Peter, MN to Charles and Hannah (Larson) Stark. Welcoming Don to the family were older siblings Carl, Ruth (Braun), Raymond and Dorothy (all of whom have predeceased him).

 Don met his bride-to-be, Patricia Burg Stark, during school (where Pat’s sister, Phyllis Burg Lambert was teaching). He courted Pat by foot, buggy, car and airplane until she said, “Yes”; they were married January 6, 1949 and together enjoyed 67 happy years hand-in-hand. Don’s passion for farming began in childhood and continued as his life-long career. After stepping away to serve his country in the U.S. Marine Corp., he returned to farming and started his family. Don was devoted to his church where he was a faithful member at both his Lake Worth, FL and St. Peter, MN parishes.  He deeply cherished his family and friends and eagerly celebrated each new generation. Don loved spending time with his dear “Patsy” enjoying dancing, socializing with family and friends and singing together in the backyard swing at their farm. He is survived by six children: Daniel, Pamela Stark Thomas (Bill), Charles “Chip” (Melissa), Terry (Kathleen), Kimberly Stark-Webber and Mary Kay Koller (Paul).  His family tree also includes 16 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren.

 Visitation will be at St. Peter Funeral Home’s Klein Chapel on Thursday, April 21 from 4 – 6 PM with shared memories invited at 6 PM.  Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Church of St. Peter on Friday, April 22 at 11 AM.  Burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.  Reception follows at Church of St. Peter.
