Helen Gertrude Vogt, age 97, of Kasota, died Sunday, March 27, 2016, at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, March 30, 2016, at the Church of St. Peter. Visitation will be one hour prior to the mass at the church. Interment will be in Kasota Hill Cemetery. St. Peter Funeral Home handled the arrangements.
Helen was born July 13, 1918, in Oshawa Township to Nicolas and Rosalie (Gau) Borsch. She was a graduate of St. Peter High School. Helen was united in marriage to John Vogt on November 14, 1936, in St. Peter. Helen was a homemaker for her family and also was a mink rancher. She was a member of the Church of St. Peter. Helen enjoyed gardening, fishing, playing cards, sewing, cooking, and baking.
Helen is survived by her five children, Joyce (Wayne) Willson, John Vogt Jr., Janet (James) Derner, Mary Rudenick, and Donald (Diane) Vogt, all of Kasota; eleven grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and also many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John Sr. in 2003; and three sisters, Clara McBride, Bernice Vogt, and Marion Hix.
