Dorothy F. Willaert, age 76 of Le Sueur, passed peacefully on Thursday, March 24, 2016 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter surrounded by family.
Mass of Christian burial will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, March 29, 2016 at the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter. Visitation will be from 4:00 – 7:00 on Monday with a prayer service at 7pm all at the church. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the service Tuesday. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family.
Dorothy Flora was born on April 1, 1939 in Mankato to Leslie and Rose (Trio) Pietsch and is a 1957 graduate of St. Clair High School. She was united in marriage to Leon H. Willaert at Ss. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Mankato. She was employed at Grandview Good Samaritan Center in St. Peter as a CNA for 30 years, retiring in 2001. She was an active member of the Church of St. Peter and enjoyed being with her grandchildren, searching cookbooks for the best recipes, riding her John Deere lawnmower, gardening, traveling and collecting dolls.
Left to cherish her memory is her husband Leon of Le Sueur; children: Leo (Wendy) of Lakeville, Linda (Al) Mork of St. Peter, Lori Haley of Mankato, Dean (Lee Ann) and Julie (Jay) Juell all of St. Peter, Gloria (Brad ) Knaus of Chaska, Danny, Dale, and Pat (Niki) all of Le Sueur, and Gary (Cara) of Jordan; daughter-in-law Mari Willaert of Le Sueur; 22 grandchildren; siblings: Dean (Deloris), Pat (Bill) DePuydt, Connie (Jerry) Scheurer, Bonnie (Greg) Thomas, Ginny (Alan) Scheurer; sister-in-law Kitty Pietsch; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by children Gerald and Peggy Willaert, granddaughter Ellie Willaert, siblings: Don, Kathy (Merle) Wilmes and infants Mary Jo and Larry.
