Janet Eileen Brown, age 70, of St. Peter, died Wednesday, February 24, 2016, at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, February 27, 2016, at Trinity Lutheran Church, St. Peter. Visitation will be held one hour before service at the church on Saturday. Interment will be in Hebron Cemetery, rural Judson, MN. St. Peter Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Ecumen Sand Prairie, St. Croix Hospice, or the Benedictine Living Community.
Janet was born September 7, 1945 to John and Levka (Robeck) Heilman in St. Peter. She graduated from St. Peter High School in 1963. Janet was united in marriage to Herb T. Brown on May 29, 1965. She graduated from the L.P.N. program at South Central Technical College in 1969. Janet was employed by the St. Peter Regional Treatment Center for 35 years until retiring in 2001. She was an avid reader, movie buff, volunteer for Trinity Lutheran Church and VINE. Janet was a member of the Red Hat Society and she enjoyed flower gardening, having lunch with family and friends, NASCAR Racing, collecting angels, and her German shepherd dog, Bandit.
Janet is survived by her husband of 50 years, Herb T. of St. Peter; three sons, Herb Brown Jr. of Elko-New Market, Corey (Cheri) Brown of St. Peter, Jeremy (Brita) Brown of Elko-New Market; four grandsons, Jesse Brown, Kyle (Rachel) Kitt, Braeden Lecher, and Carter Brown; two great-grandchildren; two sisters, Linda (Bob) Elwood of St. Peter and Bonnie (Tom) Adams of Colorado; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Bob and Betty Brown; nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Janet was preceded in death by her parents, John and Levka and her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Burt and Tena Brown.
