Elnor Janni, 97 of St. Peter and formerly New Ulm, died Thursday, January 21, 2016 at the Benedictine Living Community, St. Peter.
Memorial Mass is 11:00 am Tuesday, February 9, 2016 at the Cathedral of the Holy Trinity in New Ulm. Visitation is 5:00 - 7:00 pm Monday, February 8 at St. Peter Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service at the church

Elnor was born May 14, 1918 in New Ulm to Harley and Francis (Bustag) Simmet. She is a graduate of Holy Trinity High School and worked at the WearWell Garment factory and later Dannheims Dairy, from which she retired. She was united in marriage to Albert Janni on May 30, 1938 in New Ulm.
She was active in St. Anne's Catholic Women. In her younger years, she enjoyed dancing with Albert and later in life she knitted, watched soap operas and Wheel of Fortune, and enjoyed the Vikings and Twins.
Left to remember Elnor are her sons: Tom (Ruth) of St. Peter and Gary (Cindy) of New Ulm; daughter: Sharon Duenes of Mankato; 14 grandchildren; 3 step grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; 11 step great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren; brother: Dennis (Helen) Simmet; sister-in-law Stella Drill; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Albert; and son Dennis.
