John Schneider

John Fred Schneider, 91 of St. Peter, died Monday, January 18, 2016 at the Benedictine Living Community, St. Peter.

Mass of Christian Burial is 10:30 am Saturday, January 23, 2016 at the Church of St. Peter with burial at Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation is 4:00 – 7:00 pm Friday at St. Peter Funeral Home and also one hour prior to the service at the church on Saturday.

John was born June 23, 1924 in Oshawa Township, Nicollet County to Joseph and Julia (Unsitiz) Schneider. He worked for the St. Peter Tile Company for many years and helped many neighbors with farm work. He enjoyed animals, bailing hay, fishing, hunting, his bird Coco, playing cards and spending time with family.

He married Marion Hughes on October 21, 1952. Together they had nine children. Surviving are: Margaret (Calvin) Nourie, Jannice, Steve (Diana), Diane (Paul) Wilson, Mark (LaRae), Lois (special friend Ken), Karen (Jim) Kepka, Gary (Heidi); many grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister: Mary Thompson; and sisters-in-law Betty (Ron) Alt and Margaret Schneider. He was preceded in death by his wife Marion, infant child and grandsons, parents, and siblings: Joseph, Edward, William, Agnes, Catherine, Leona and Julia.
