Eunice Marie Gulden passed away this week at the age of 89. Eunice was born in New Ulm, Minnesota on May 24th, 1925. She met, fell in love, and married Eldor in 1944. Eventually they moved to St. Peter and raised their five children. Eunice would always find the goodness in people and had an abundance of kindness in her heart. To her friends, Eunice was genuinely happy and always welcoming. Her children have fond memories of the aroma of fresh baked sweet rolls and home cooked meals that would fill the house. The community knew Eunice as a generous and giving individual by her long support at the St. Peter Food Shelf and Thrift Store. Eunice was a strong believer in her Catholic faith and freely donated her time and talents to the Catholic Daughters and St. Peter Catholic Church Choir. In the last years of her life, as her memory faded and she struggled to recognize her loved ones, she would enjoy joining others in singing her favorite melodies, and in her final days, she was able to still recall and pray the Lord's Prayer. She was greatly loved and will be profoundly missed. Eunice is survived by her five children; 1) Patricia Schoenfelder, her husband Randall and their three children John, Jeff and Jill, 2) Ronald, his wife Judith and three children Dana, Max, Kylie, 3) Michael, his wife Jackie Nelson and their daughter Caroline, 4) Mark, his wife Barbara and their son Brittain, 5) William, his two sons Zane and Hunter, and his wife Holly. Eunice also had fifteen beautiful great grandchildren. Memorials are preferred in Eunice's name to the St. Peter Food Shelf or the St Peter Catholic Church. Visitation will be from 9:00am to 11:00am on Thursday, May 28 at the St. Peter Catholic Church. The funeral mass will immediately follow the visitation. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
