Margelet Allen

Margelet Lorina (Roberts) Allen age 90 of Kasota, died on December 20, 2014 surrounded by family. Funeral service will be held at 10:30 am on Monday, December 29, 2014 at First Presbyterian Church in Kasota with burial at Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis. Visitation will be from 4:00 - 7:00 pm on Sunday the 28th At St. Peter Funeral Home ~ Klein Chapel and also one hour prior to the service Monday at the church. Margelet was born in Judson MN to Luther and Elteen (Thurston) Roberts on January 19, 1924. She attended Judson school and graduated from Nicollet High School. She married Floyd Allen on February 2, 1946 and raised one daughter and four sons. She loved watching her children and grandchildren Sprint Car race and grandchildren and great grandchildren go kart race. Her crafts were many and she was a foster grandparent for 18 years. Margelet was a member of First Presbyterian in Kasota, member of the American Legion for 50 years and member at the Morson Ario VFW in Mankato. Left to remember Margelet are her daughter: Janet (Dwain)Wilmes of Kasota, three sons: Richard (Cyndi) of Kasota, Bruce (Ronda) of Mankato and Robert (Susan) of Kasota; 18 Grandchildren; 32 great grandchildren; 5 great great grandchildren; a sister, Lauretta Neal of North Mankato; two brothers: Merwin of Mankato and Kendall (Marian) of Madelia; two sisters-in-law: Vivian Anderson of Wahpeton, ND and Ruth Huntington of Sebeka; many cousins, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Floyd in 1986; son Ronald; grandson Dustin; sister Eleanor and brothers Emrys and John.
