Richard A. Hulseberg, age 68 of St. Peter, died surrounded by family on Monday, June 10, 2013 after dealing with debilitating strokes and cancer for several years.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at St. Peter Funeral Home " Klein Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service.
Richard was born on November 30, 1944, in Elmhurst, IL, the second of six children to Henry F. and Helen M. Hulseberg. He was raised in Glen Ellyn, IL, received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Northwestern University in 1966, and his Masters and PhD from the University of Illinois in 1970. On June 10, 1967 he was united in marriage to Lillian Adalene "Addie" Jones in Glen Ellyn, IL. Richard taught English Literature, Film Studies and Popular Culture at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. He then enjoyed a long and successful career in human resources management at General Electric Medical Systems in Waukesha, WI, where he was able to combine his passions for technology and communication. Richard enjoyed auto racing, bicycling, music, literature, and especially his children and grandchildren. His grandchildren were his inspiration and joy in the final years of his life. Family and friends will remember Richard for his brilliant intellect, his enthusiastic curiosity, and his distinctive wit.
Grateful for having shared in his life are his wife, Addie; children: Anna (Craig Matarrese), Adalene Jane (John) Hibscher, and Jesse (Stacey); grandchildren: Sophia and Alexandra Matarrese, Laurel, Evan and Robin Hibscher, and Henry Hulseberg; siblings: Ann (Joe Duchene) Beddini, Donald (Sandra), Jane (Jeff) James and Susan (John) Murray; sister-in-law Barbara Hulseberg, and many loving nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and older brother, Thomas.
