Mabel M. Meyers, age 95, of St. Peter, died Saturday, October 12, 2013, at the Good Samaritan Society - Grandview in St. Peter.
Funeral Service will be 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, October 16, 2013, at First Lutheran Church in St. Peter, with Rev. Don Holmstrom officiating. Interment will be in Greenhill Cemetery in St. Peter. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. St. Peter Funeral Home handled the arrangements. Memorials may be given to First Lutheran Church or Good Samaritan Society " Grandview.
Mabel was born on July 10, 1918, in Lake Prairie Township, Nicollet County. She was the daughter of Fred and Sarah (Kotz) Hahn. Mabel was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended school in Kasota and graduated from high school in 1936. Following high school, she worked at Immanuel Hospital in Mankato as a nurses' aide. Mabel was united in marriage to John Meyers at Trinity Lutheran Church in Humboldt, IA. They lived in Mankato for five years before moving to St. Peter. Mabel worked at the St. Peter Community Hospital for 20 years. She was an active member of First Lutheran Church in St. Peter for 50 years. She and John enjoyed traveling, playing cards, and fishing. After her husband's death, Mabel became ill and moved to the Good Samaritan Society - Grandview in St. Peter.
Mabel is survived by many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 61 years, John; three brothers and two sisters.
