Robert H. Willaert, age 92 of rural St. Peter, died on Tuesday, October 15, 2013 at Oak Terrace Health Care Center in Gaylord.
Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 22, 2013 at the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter with Fr. Todd Petersen officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be from 4:00 " 7:00 pm on Monday at the church with a prayer service at 7:00 pm. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Robert Harry was born on May 20, 1921 in Mankato to Cyrille Henry and Mary Theresa (Depuydt) Willaert. He married Mary Margaret Sanftner on August 20, 1947 at All Saints Catholic Church in Madison Lake. They farmed in Mankato from 1947 to 1962. They then moved to Lake Prairie Township in Nicollet County and farmed until retiring in 1992. His faith in the Lord and his family were very important to him. He enjoyed reading, old time music, dancing, and going to family activities.
Robert is survived by his wife, Mary; sons: Richard (Linda) of St. Peter, Jerome (Kathy) of Gaylord, Robert Jr. (Jeanne) of Mankato, Raymond (Lori) of St. Peter and John (Skyla) of St. Peter; daughters: Jeanette (Pete) DeVlaeminck of Winthrop, Frances (Tom) Ziegler of Winthrop, Mary (Wayne) Wallen of Palmyra NE, Leona (Paul) DeVlaeminck of Gaylord, Helen Hager of St. Peter, and Donna (Rich) Cummings of Vail AZ; 35 grandchildren; 51 great grandchildren; one great-great grandchild; brother: Leon (Dorothy) of St. Peter; sister Ignatia Seys of Janesville' sisters-in-law: Fran, Kay and Lois Willaert all of Mankato; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by brothers: Joe, Lawrence, Frank, Art, and Andrew; sisters: Marie and Joan Mikolai; son-in-law Dick Hager; daughter-in-law Rita Willaert; and granddaughter Jerri Neudecker.
