Keith John DeVlaeminck, beloved husband, father and friend to many, lost his battle with cancer on March 6, 2012.
Funeral service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, March 10, 2012 at the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter with Fr. Phil Schotzko officiating. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be from 9:30 until the start of the service at the church. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Keith was born in St. Peter to Aloysius and Cecelia on August 14, 1948. He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1966 and went on to South Central Technical College to become a machinist. He farmed for many years and later decided to use his skills as a machinist. He was hired by Jarraff Industries, which began its success in Keith's tin shed in the middle of a cornfield. Keith was truly an artist. From the quickest fix to the most complicated part, his ideas would have inspired any of the masters of our time. He also enjoyed fishing, hunting, spending time with his family in the back yard and being at the shop pondering his next project.
Grateful for having shared in his life are: his wife, Laura; daughters: Kelsie (Bob) Peters and Abby (Lance) Wilson; grandson Henry; sisters: Sharon (James) O'Connor, Karen (Leonard) Warren and Sandy (Konrad) Elliott. He was loved by many nieces and nephews, especially his sidekick John Warren. He was preceded in death by his sister, Rita Willaert.
Known for what his family calls "Keithisms", he'd like you to know, "That's life " do it as cool as you can."
