Frieda Burg, age 85 of St. Peter, passed away peacefully on May 8, 2012 at the Benedictine Living Community lovingly surrounded by family.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, May 12, 2012 at the Church of St. Peter, followed by interment at Calvary Cemetery in St. Peter. St. Peter Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
Elfriede Anna Niesler was born in Bresslau, Germany on January 23, 1927. She married Donald R. Burg on December 16, 1947 at the Church of St. Peter. As a young German war bride, she and Donald settled near St. Peter and raised fifteen children. Her generosity, kindness, and patience will forever be remembered by family and those who knew her. She gave selflessly to family and friends as well as strangers. Her love for others was boundless.
Her loving family includes sons, Reinhardt, David, Benjamin (Jill), Jeffrey, Gregory, Douglas, and Robert. Daughters include Christine (Christine), Sylvia (Greg) Stier, Sheilah, Debra (Collin) Ferden, Roxanne (Patrick) McGuire, Carol (Tracy) Glass, Theresa and Stacy. She had 39 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by husband, Donald and grandson, Tyler Glynn.
Frieda resided for the past two years at MN Valley Health Center of LeSueur, and more recently at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter. The family wishes to especially thank the staff of each for their compassionate, wonderful care of our mom.
