ASHLEY ROSE LEONARD
Beloved daughter and sister left the Saints team on Earth to play ball with the Angels in heaven on June 23, 2012. She traded in her Saints gear for a pair of snow white wings.
Ashley will be welcomed into heaven by a team of angels at a Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, July 3 at 10:30 A.M. at the Church of St. Peter, 1801 West Broadway, St. Peter, MN 56082. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, St. Peter, MN. Visitation will be at St. Peter Catholic Church on July 2 beginning at 4:00pm followed by a prayer service at 8:00pm. St. Peter Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Ashley was a long awaited gift to the family as a baby. She joined the family with excitement and joy on Thanksgiving Day, 1998. She was the best Thanksgiving surprise ever! She brightened many days with her smiles, laughter and hugs. She had innocence about her, yet was a confident and talented young lady. We watched Ashley grow, mature, and enthusiastically participate in the arts, athletics, and academics. Her love of animals was as infectious as her love of life and love for her dog Leo. Ashley attended John Ireland Catholic School, where she strengthened her faith in God and then attended St. Peter High School.
Ashley Rose will be dearly missed by her parents Bruce and Cathy Leonard and older brother Blake of St. Peter, MN., Grandparents Donald and Ruth Wenner of Madison Lake and Geraldine Leonard of Nicollet, many loving aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and special friends; Ashlee Dehn and Adam McCabe. Ashley Rose joins Grandpa Don Leonard in heaven.
Ashley lived joyfully, loved exceptionally and was loved dearly! Part of Ashley will live on in others as her corneas and heart valves were donated.
