Mark E. Lorentz, age 58 of St. Peter died unexpectedly on Friday, October 5, 1012 at his home.

Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11:30 am on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 at the Church of St. Peter in St. Peter with Fr. Phil Schotzko officiating. Visitation will be held from 4:00 -7:00 pm on Tuesday at St. Peter Funeral Home with a prayer service at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue one hour prior to the service at the church Wednesday.

Mark E. Lorentz was born on April 29, 1954 to Peter and Pearl Lorentz in Hastings MN. Mark attended school in Cannon Falls through the 9th grade when the family moved to St. Peter in 1969. He graduated from St. Peter High School in 1972. After high school, he attended Brainerd Vo-Tech College where he earned a degree in landscape technology. After college he started work at the St. Peter Regional Treatment Center, working for 33 years until his retirement in 2010. He married Loree Hulke on July 19, 2000 in Alcester, SD. Mark enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing softball, going to the casino with his mom and spending time with his grandkids.

Mark is survived by his wife, Loree; four stepsons: Jeff (Kelly) Hulke of St. Peter, Justin Hulke of St. Louis MO, Colin (Kelly) Hulke of Mankato and Kyle (Heidi) Hulke of St. Peter; three grandkids: Edward, Aaliyah and Corey; mother: Pearl Lorentz of St. Peter; siblings: Naomi (Leon) Quiram of St. Peter, Nancy (Tom) Nuebert of North Mankato, Tim (Heather) of St. Peter and Frank of St. Peter; three sisters-in-law; one brother-in-law; five nephews, two nieces and two great nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Peter; nephew Michael Quiram and Loree's parents Harold and Rosie Stubbs.
