Dorothy Jane Nye, age 90 of St. Peter, died Friday, April 3, 2009 at North Memorial Hospital in Robbinsdale.
Funeral service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, April 8, 2009 at Trinity Lutheran Church in St. Peter with Rev. Eric Natwick officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday. St. Peter Funeral Home " Klein Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Dorothy was born on March 30, 1919 to John and Albertina Westman in Traverse, MN. She attended country school and went on to graduate from St. Peter High School. After high school, Dorothy attended cosmetology school in Minneapolis. She was married to Archie Ollerman in 1940 until he passed away in 1976. She was then married to Frank Nye in 1982 until his death in 1993. Dorothy owned a beauty shop in St. Peter where she worked for 32 years before her retirement. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church. Dorothy especially enjoyed playing Bridge with her friends. She also liked to read, do needlepoint, and spend time with her family.
She is survived by her daughter, Nancy Miller of St. Louis Park; son, Tom Ollerman of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Whitney Miller and husband Mark Ruben of St. Louis Park, Tommy (Amy) Miller of Plymouth, and Andy (Brooke) Miller of Dallas, TX; great-grandchildren, A.J., Max, Sam, Lily, Lucas, and Graysen Miller; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; one brother; and four sisters.
