Lee Lloyd Willson, age 80 of St. Peter, died Monday, April 6, 2009 at the Benedictine Living Community in St. Peter.

Funeral service will be at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, April 9, 2009 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church with Rev. Matthew Rauh officiating. Burial will be in Savidge Lake Cemetery, rural Cleveland. Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday at St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Thursday. Memorials are preferred to the Little Lamb's Preschool at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church.

Lee was born on December 2, 1928 to Grover and Bessie (Buckels) Willson in Garden City, Minnesota. He was a 1946 graduate of Kasota High School. He served his country in the U.S. Army from June 30, 1946 until his honorable discharge on December 22, 1947. He was involved with the Japan 538 Anti Aircraft Searchlight Battery in which their primary objective was to locate aircraft and ships. He was awarded both the WWII Victory Medal and the Army of Occupation Medal. After being discharged he was united in marriage to Shirley Jean Bartelmehs on August 12, 1950 in Lyle, Minnesota. He was employed by Amoco Oil as a Computer Design Analyst. He was a member of St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church, St. Peter American Legion, and Janesville Rotary Club and Star City Committee. He served as Chairman of the Board for the Janesville Nursing Home. Lee's greatest love was spending time with his family.

He is survived by his children, Wendy Willson of St. Peter, and Randy (Annette) Willson of St. Peter; grandchildren, Shaun (special friend Jaclyn Terlecki) Willson of Lindstrom, Adam Willson of St. Peter, Christopher (Tiffany) Hagen of St. Peter; great-grandchild, Kaiser Lee Hagen; siblings, Eva Butterfield, Bill Willson and Wayne Willson all of Kasota; special caregivers, Jeanne Walentiny and Darlene Barth.

Lee was preceded in death by his wife, Shirley; and siblings, Dan, Bob, Warren, Rhoda, and Dorothy.
