Duane E. Metzler, age 74 of Cleveland, passed away on Saturday, April 25, 2009 at Hillcrest Health Care Center in Mankato.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at Our Savior's Lutheran Church in Cleveland with Pastor Shelly Olson officiating. Burial will be in Cleveland Lutheran Cemetery, rural Cleveland. Visitation will be held from 4-8 pm on Tuesday, April 28th at St. Peter Funeral Home " Klein Chapel, and will continue one hour prior to the service at the church on Wednesday.
Duane was born on July 3, 1934 in Waseca to Reuben and Lillian (Wilkowski) Metzler. He was employed as a salesman for the A.H. Hermel Company for over 40 years. Duane enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, telling jokes and especially spending time with his family.
He is survived by his children: Rocky (Verna) of St. Peter, Roy (friend Janet Lutterman) of St. Peter and Ricky (Renata) of Lake Crystal; step-children: Judy Jordan, Jenny Wright and Linda Williams; grandchildren: Abby, Bruce, Michael, Alaina, McKenzie and Taylor; several step-grandchildren; great-grandchildren: Isaiah and Christian; sister, Carol Petzel of Alma City and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Florence; and grandson, Cyle.
