Donna Marie MacKenzie, age 80 of St. Peter was united with the Lord on Sunday, September 23, 2007 at Immanuel St. Joseph's Hospital in Mankato.

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Union Presbyterian Church in St. Peter with Rev. Steve Boots officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery in St. Peter. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Tuesday (TODAY) at St. Peter Funeral Home Klein Chapel. Memorials are preferred to the Nicollet County Historical Society Treaty Center, Habitat for Humanity, or Union Presbyterian Church.

Donna was born January 8, 1927 in Albert Lea, MN. She was the daughter of George B. and Ruth M. (Keller) Tauer of Rochester, MN. She graduated from Rochester High School, and then attended Carleton College and the University of Minnesota and graduated in Business Administration and SLA in 1949. She married Malcolm K. MacKenzie on June 24, 1950. She worked a year while he finished law school in 1951and then was a wonderful stay-at-home mother the rest of her years.

She was an avid volunteer for many organizations in St. Peter including the Camp Fire Girls, Boy Scouts, Job's Daughters, local political party elections, and the Historical Society. She spent many years working alongside her husband with the MacKenzie Clan Society in the Americas. She also served as Worthy Matron for Nicollet Chapter # 174 of the Order of Eastern Star and was Grand Ada during her mother's years as Worthy Grand Matron of Minnesota. She enjoyed friends, traveling, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family at the MacKenzie Family Cabin.

Donna is survived by her husband, Malcolm K. MacKenzie; daughter, Kyle (John) Nowell; son, Charles (Leigh Ann) MacKenzie; daughter-in-law Lynn MacKenzie; grandchildren, Heather (Paul) Polivka, Brandon (Katie) Macrafic, Chalyce (Ryan) Bland, Colin, Caleb and Cameron MacKenzie, Blake and Nicole MacKenzie; great-grandchildren Henry and Ellie Macrafic; step-grandchildren Michael Mueller and Lisa Thompson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and a son, Bruce A. MacKenzie.
