William A. Zimmerman, age 61 of St. Peter, died unexpectedly on June 4, 2011 at the River's Edge Hospital in St. Peter.
William was born on December 11, 1949 in St. Peter to Lowell and Janice (Krig) Zimmerman. He is a 1967 graduate of St. Peter High School. He then entered the US Army and served during the Vietnam War stationed in Germany. William was united in marriage to Cheryl Siehndel on June 29, 1984 at St. Peter Evangelical Lutheran Church in St. Peter. He worked at ADC for 18 years before enrolling at Mankato State University. He graduated in 1993 with a degree in computer science and was employed by CFSA (Scholarship America) after school. William was a member of the St. Peter VFW and enjoyed fishing, reading, watching science fiction and especially time with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife, Cheryl; sons: Matthew and Adam (Amber); two grandchildren: Devon and Eve; mother: Janice; a sister; Sue (Timothy) Connor; father-in-law: Gerald Siehndel, Sr.; two sisters-in-law: Deb (Gary) Van Guilder and Cindy (Terry) Wesley; two brothers-in-law: Gerald Siehndel Jr. and Randy (Lorelei) Siehndel: and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and mother-in-law: Ilene Siehndel.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Wednesday, June 8, 2011 at St. Peter Funeral Home " Klein Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at the Concord Cemetery, in Concord, MN.
