David "Bernie" Erickson

David "Bernie" Erickson, age48 of St. Peter, died Monday, June 6, 2011 at his home in St. Peter.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, June 10, 2011 at the Church of St. Peter with Fr. Phil Schotzko officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be in Calvary Cemetery in Cleveland, MN. St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel assisted the family with arrangements.

David Anthony was born June 4, 1963 to Maynerd and Martha (McShea) Erickson in St. Peter. He graduated from Cleveland High School in 1982. Bernie was in the National Guard before he had done construction work and fencing. He was always willing to help others as he was a caring and loving man. Bernie gave special care for his special friend, Sabrina Kopischke. Bernie also loved to fish in his spare time.

Bernie is survived by his 13 siblings: Jerry (Sandy) Erickson, Betty (Bill) Witzany, Linda Lunak, Eugene (Julie) Erickson, Randy (Linda Haas) Erickson, Mary Feser, Mark Erickson, Debbie (John Wendt) LaBarr, Danny Erickson, Barb (Herb) Wachtel, Nancy (Paul Ficara) Schugel, Judy (DeWayne) Skinner and Tim (Christy) Erickson; and a good friend and fishing buddy, Cal Kopischke.

Bernie was preceded in death by his parents; 3 brothers-in-law: Bob Lunak, Jim Feser, and Donnie LaBarr; niece, Peggy Erickson; and great-niece, Natalie Garcia.
