Scott Donald Frey, age 54 of North Mankato, died unexpectedly at his home on July 5, 2011.
Memorial service will be at 3:00 pm on Friday, July 8, 2011 at St. Peter Funeral Home " Klein Chapel with Rev. Alan Bray officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 pm until 3:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery.
Scott was born on October 27, 1956 in St. Peter to Donald and Barbara (Sampson) Frey. He graduated from St. Peter High School and then in 1976 joined the US Marines. He then attended Hutchinson Tech School for drafting and worked in that profession for 5 years. He was married to Kris Myhra and they had a daughter, Cassie. He later bartended over 30 years at the Embassy Bar in St. Peter and at Bobby Joe's Pub in North Mankato. Scott was a bright man with an artistic side and enjoyed painting and the music of the Beatles and Janet Jackson. He loved the Twins, Vikings and Timberwolves and to be on the lake fishing. He was especially fond of the Wizard of Oz, but his life was his grandchildren.
Scott will be missed by his daughter: Cassie (longtime friend Robert Berlanga) of St. Peter: grandchildren: Robbie and Jacob Scott Berlanga; siblings: Randy (JoAnn) Frey "Hawkins, Teri (Craig) Campbell, Gayle (Ed) Derner, Kelly (Terry) Jaeger all of St. Peter and Kevin (Shauna) Frey of Arden Hills/St. Paul; his ex-wife and continued friend Kris Myhra and her daughter Toni Dummer; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents: Chuck and Barb Frey in 2006.
