Dorothy Marie Ulrich, age 83 of St. Peter, died Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at Grandview Good Samaritan Center in St. Peter.
Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Friday, November 18, 2011 at the First Lutheran Church in St. Peter. Visitation will be held Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. at St. Peter Funeral Home and will continue one hour prior to service at the church. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery in St. Peter.
Dorothy was born December 6, 1927 to Carl and Lucy (Hughes) Nelson in Granby Township. After graduating from beauty school Dorothy owned and operated her own beauty salon in Le Sueur, MN. She was united in marriage to Orville Ulrich June 16, 1965 in St. Peter, MN. Dorothy was a hospice volunteer and a member at the First Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker who enjoyed gardening, baking, canning, socializing and especially loved spending time with family and friends.
Dorothy is survived by her husband Orville of St. Peter; children, Mike (Kari) Dougherty of St. Peter; Patty (Tom) Bittner of St. Peter; Tim (Linda) Dougherty of St. Peter; grandchildren, Andy, Bryan, Erin, Brooke, Emily, Dana, Kristina, Jake, Sam, Stephanie, Danielle, Nicole, Megan, Michael; eight great-grandchildren; many nieces and nephews.
Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents, Carl and Lucy; sisters, Edna, Mabel and Darlene; nephew, Stan and niece, Paula.
