Roy Krohn, age 88, of St. Peter, died Friday, December 23, 2011 at Mayo Clinic Health System " Mankato surrounded by his family.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, December 26, 2011 at Union Presbyterian Church in St. Peter, with Rev. Andy Davis officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at church. A private family burial will be held in Ottawa Cemetery. Memorials preferred to the Mayo Clinic Health System Hospice in Mankato.
Roy Heinrich Krohn was born February 14, 1923 to Otto and Hattie (Enter) Krohn in Nicollet, MN. He attended school in St. Peter and then entered the US Army during World War II. Roy was united in marriage to Faye Van Buskirk on December 14, 1946 in Ottawa, MN. He worked in construction for most of his life, and was a fireman in Kasota. Roy was a member of Union Presbyterian Church, the St. Peter VFW, and American Legion in St. Peter and Cross Lake. He enjoyed woodworking, camping, fishing, traveling extensively, and spending time with family and friends.
Roy is survived by children, Diane (Roger) Hendrickson, Wade (Donna) Krohn, and Chuck (Anita) Krohn; 14 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; five sisters, Mabel Fellman, Nedi Biehn, Leona Wass, Muriel Stoffregen, Margie Newman; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Faye in 2009; brother, Clayton; and great-grandson, Tristan.
