Cal Brazier, age 87, of St. Peter, formerly of Kasota, died Saturday, January 7, 2012 at the Grandview Good Samaritan Center in St. Peter.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 11 at the Kasota Presbyterian Church with Rev. Chris Conlin officiating. Visitation will be from 9:00 " 11:00 a.m. at the church on Wednesday. Burial will be in the Kasota Hill Cemetery.
Charles Calvin Brazier was born October 23, 1924 in Motley, MN to Charles Henry and Iva (Andrus) Brazier. He married Agnes Johnson on October 9, 1942. Cal drove milk and pop truck, farmed, worked for the railroad, owned a restaurant in Nicollet, was a National Square Dance caller, was an auctioneer, and owned a mobile home community in Kasota. He also enjoyed entertaining senior citizens at different nursing homes, and was even president of the Senior Citizen Club in Kasota. Cal was a member of the Kasota Presbyterian Church, he was on the Kasota City Council for 18 years, on the board of the Kasota Hill Cemetery, and was also a member of the Old Time Fiddler's Association. Cal loved his music and his family.
Cal is survived by his wife of 68 years, Agnes; 3 daughters, Carol (Leroy) Haas of Ottawa, Patricia Poncin of New Ulm, Rosie Sickler of Kasota; 10 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great grandchildren; sister, Adeline Potz of Pequot Lakes; 5 nieces and nephews; stepson, Roger (Shirley) Smith; and a caring and helpful family friend, Elizabeth Sickler.
Cal was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Diane Poncin and John Paul Poncin; great-grandson, Seth Poncin; nephew Michael Potz and his son, Joe; niece, Toni Potz; and an infant sister.
