Nancy Ann Stowell, age 79 of Yuma, AZ and formerly of Nicollet, passed away on Friday, February 5, 2010 at NC Little Hospice in Edina, MN.
Memorial service will be at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 9, 2010 at First Lutheran Church in St. Peter with Rev. Don Holmstrom officiating. Burial will be in Resurrection Cemetery, St. Peter. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Tuesday. St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Nancy was born on June 19, 1930 to Dutch and Anna Marie (Froehling) Fleming in LeSueur, Minnesota. She grew up in the LeSueur area and was a 1949 graduate of LeSueur High School. She was united in marriage to Norris Stowell on August 14, 1949 in LeSueur. The couple lived in LeSueur, Litchfield, Cokato, Baxter, and Nicollet. While in Nicollet, Nancy was a paraprofessional at the Nicollet Elementary School until her retirement. She wintered in Yuma Arizona for many years before making her permanent home there for the last six years. She attended church services regularly at the Gila Mountain United Methodist Church in Yuma and was a former member of First Lutheran Church in St. Peter. Nancy enjoyed dancing, playing cards, camping, fishing, golfing, spending time with her family and grandchildren, and the occasional motorcycle ride.
She is survived by four sons, Dan (Nancy) Stowell of Minnesota Lake, Mic (Ann) Stowell of Sartell, Tim (Rae) Stowell of St. Peter, and Doug (Kelley) Stowell of Andover; nine grandchildren, Angela, Lisha, Kristin, Louise, Vincent, Mark, Jamie, McKenna, and Sam; siblings, Fae Hix of Yuma, AZ, Bob (Dottie) Fleming of Wales, FL, Jim (Marlys) Fleming of Pequot Lakes, Dorothy (Rowan) Moorehead of Yuma, AZ, Jeanne Beech of Yuma, AZ, and Jack Fleming and Margaret of LeSueur; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Nancy was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Norris in 1994, and sister, Ruth.
