James Lambert

Retired farmer, James Lambert, age 95 of St. Peter, died on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the Grandview Good Samaritan Center in St. Peter.

Services are at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 20, 2010 at St. Peter Funeral Home " Klein Chapel with visitation from 9 " 11 am. Burial is in Calvary Cemetery, St. Peter.

James "Buzz" was born on March 31, 1914 in Oshawa Township Nicollet County to Robert and Anna (Lawler) Lambert. He attended John Ireland School and graduated from St. Peter High School. He married Phyllis Burg on November 20, 1943 in St. Peter. He farmed the Lambert family farm until his retirement in later years. He worked as a psychiatric guard at the St. Peter State Hospital and the St. Peter Security Hospital from 1957-1975.

Buzz enjoyed playing cards, reading, hunting, fishing, spending time on the farm and socializing with his many friends. He was also active in the Meals on Wheels and Hospice programs.

James is survived by his children, Barbara (Rodney) Van Zee of St. Peter, Robert (Sally) of St. Peter, William (Peggy) of St. Peter and Gail Levine of Cleveland; nine grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren. Also surviving James are his in-laws, Genevieve Lambert, Frieda Burg, Donald and Patricia Stark and numerous nieces and nephews. James was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, a son: Michael, two sisters: Isabel and Florence, and three brothers: Richard, George and Robert.
