Betty VonEssen (age 75) of St. Peter passed away peacefully on Friday, May 21, 2010 at her home..
A memorial service will be held at 3:00 PM on Sunday, May 23rd at Trinity Lutheran Church. St. Peter Funeral Home-Klein Chapel is assisting the family with arrangements.
Betty was born October 6, 1934 to Raymond and Pearl Strand. On February 4, 1956 she was united in marriage to Robert VonEssen. They raised their 4 children in their home in St. Peter.
Betty was a LPN at St. Peter State Hospital. Later she put her heart and soul into running Sunnyside Florist. After retiring she loved to decorate her home and yard. She enjoyed being with family.
Surviving is her husband Robert, children Brad (Julie) VonEssen, Vickie Stocker and Brian VonEssen. Grandchildren; Ryan, Brandon, Jason, Eric, Samantha, Teresa, Michael, Jessica, Shannon, Becky and Chad. Great Grandchildren; Ryan, Mitchell, Ava, Lillian and Anders.
Preceding her in death were her parents Raymond and Pearl Strand, sister Virginia Strand, son-in-law Allen Stocker and daughter Cathy Iten.
